Chinese restaurant

Information and Reviews

Hongmyeong Chinese Restaurant is known for offering a delightful experience to its customers. They provide Takeaway and Dine-in options, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their delicious Chinese cuisine. Customers have raved about the food and service, leaving positive reviews that highlight key points:

  • No se si es comida china original o es comida china coreanizada.. pero si puedo decir que es uno de los mejores comidas chinas que he probado en mi vida. Lastima que la porcion de cada comida era muy poco.
  • It is from the same family group of YilYulHyang which is also one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Since it was introduced on the air from a popular youtube by famous singer SungSiKyung (special feat. Phy) it has become more famous. In stead of the designated course menu, the Omakase style is asked, leaving all up to the Chef. According to the reputation, every dish is tasty, but the best cuisine for me is Jajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce, 9K KRW) and homemade pan-fried dumpling (8K) which is available only for dinner time. The dumpling is super delectable, crispy outside and juicy inside. For Jajangmyeon, adding fried egg (over-easy) is recommendable which gives more savory taste. Nanjianwanzi (Stir-fried meatballs and vegetables, 48K) is also a signature one. Staffs are friendly, but we should understand that they can be too busy with the customers. Reservation by phone is essential and Valet parking is available for comfortable visit.
  • Googled online the best jjajangmyeon around Seoul this came out. I went to try it during lunch time, the crowd was crazy and packed. Jjajangmyeon was the highlight of all other dishes we ordered including sweet sour pork. The taste is quite Chinese but not too authentic. Jjajangmyeon is okay and tasty but not worth going all the way to try.

With a rating of 4.2, Hongmyeong ensures a casual atmosphere perfect for families and groups. They offer a variety of dishes, including Alcohol and Beer, making it a great spot for those looking for a unique Chinese dining experience. Make sure to make a reservation as this place tends to get busy!

From traditional hole-in-the-wall eateries to modern fusion restaurants, the city boasts a diverse array of options for this beloved dish. Explore our map to discover some of the best jja jang myun spots in Seoul.

What is Jja Jang Myun?

Jja Jang Myun is a popular Korean noodle dish consisting of thick, chewy noodles topped with a savory black bean sauce made from fermented soybeans. The dish often includes a variety of ingredients such as diced pork, onions, and potatoes, all cooked together to create a rich and flavorful sauce. Jja Jang Myun is a satisfying and comforting meal that is enjoyed by many people in Korea and around the world.

If you're in Seoul, you'll find many restaurants and food stalls serving this delicious dish, each with their own unique twist on the classic recipe. Whether you're a fan of traditional Korean cuisine or just looking to try something new, Jja Jang Myun is a must-try dish that will leave you wanting more.

How is Jja Jang Myun different from Jja Jang Bap?

Jja Jang Myun and Jja Jang Bap are both Korean dishes that feature a black bean sauce, but they are served in different ways. Jja Jang Myun is a noodle dish, while Jja Jang Bap is a rice dish. The black bean sauce in Jja Jang Bap is typically served over a bed of steamed rice, creating a hearty and satisfying meal.

While both dishes share the same flavorful black bean sauce, the texture and presentation of the dish are what set them apart. Jja Jang Myun's chewy noodles are the perfect vehicle for soaking up the rich sauce, while Jja Jang Bap's fluffy rice provides a comforting base for the savory flavors. Whether you prefer noodles or rice, both dishes are delicious options to try in Seoul.

Where can I find the best Jja Jang Myun in Seoul?

If you're looking to experience the best Jja Jang Myun in Seoul, you're in luck! The city is home to countless restaurants and food stalls that specialize in this beloved dish. From traditional family-run eateries to modern fusion restaurants, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Is Jja Jang Myun a healthy meal option?

While Jja Jang Myun is a delicious and satisfying dish, it is not typically considered a healthy meal option due to its high-calorie and high-fat content. The black bean sauce used in Jja Jang Myun is rich and flavorful, but it can also be high in sodium and unhealthy fats.

However, there are ways to make Jja Jang Myun healthier by opting for whole wheat noodles, leaner cuts of meat, and adding plenty of vegetables to the dish. By making these small adjustments, you can enjoy a lighter and more nutritious version of this classic Korean dish. As with any meal, moderation is key, so enjoy Jja Jang Myun in Seoul as part of a balanced diet.
